First Foals for During, Stroll, Strong Hope

The first foals for Claiborne Farm stallions During, Stroll , and Strong Hope have arrived. Grade I winner Stroll's foal is a colt born Jan. 18 at Calumet Farm near Lexington. Bred by North Wales, the colt is a half-brother to stakes winner Cupids Revenge and is out of the stakes-placed Irish Tower mare Gaye's Valentine. Stroll (Pulpit--Maid for Walking, by Prince Sabo) stands in 2006 for $7,500 at the Hancock family's Claiborne near Paris, Ky.

Strong Hope's first foal is a filly born Jan. 21 at Three Chimneys Farm near Midway, Ky. Bred by John Clay and JWC Investments, the filly is the fourth foal out of the stakes-winning Capote mare Holy Capote. A grade II winner, Strong Hope (Grand Slam--Shining Through, by Deputy Minister) stands in 2006 for $30,000.

The first foal by grade II winner During was born Jan. 16 at Nicholas Lotz' Briarbrooke Farm near Paris, Ky. Bred by Lotz and Diana L. Hume, the newborn filly is a half-sister to stakes winner Merry Me in Spring and is out of stakes winner Merry Deputy (by Silver Deputy). During (Cherokee Run--Blading Saddle, by Blade) stands in 2006 for $10,000.
