Grade II Winner Runway Model Retired: Going to Storm Cat

Grade II winner Runway Model, one of the top 2-year-old fillies of 2004 for Dr. Naveed Chowhan, has been retired from racing and is booked to Storm Cat.

As a juvenile, Runway Model won the Darley Alcibiades Stakes (gr. II) at Keeneland and the Golden Rod Stakes (gr. II) at Churchill Downs. Her three stakes-placings include efforts in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) and Arlington-Washington Lassie Stakes (gr. III).

"Runway Model is something special," said trainer Bernie Flint. "There aren't many of them around, but that's truly one right there. Just when I needed her the most, she stepped up. I call her the 'Titanium Horse' because she's stronger than iron and she loves to run."

A 4-year-old daughter of Petionville, Runway Model retired with four wins from 15 starts and earnings of $725,598. Last year, she placed in the Ashland Stakes (gr. I) and Fair Grounds Oaks (gr. II).

Bred by Everest Stables, Runway Model is a half-sister to stakes winner Mambo Train. Her dam, stakes winner Ticket to Houston (by Houston), is a half-sister to two stakes winners, including graded winner Sea Ditty, the dam of graded winner M B Sea.

Runway Model will be boarded at Taylor Made Farm near Nicholasville, Ky.
