Nasty Affair, who was bred in Kentucky by Robert I. Green and produced from the Seventh Landing mare L'Affaire, was buried at Indian Creek Farm near Paris, Ky.
Nasty Affair, a stakes winner/producer, was euthanized March 9 because of complications from the infirmities of old age. The 22-year-old daughter of Nasty and Bold was owned by Steven Sansone, president of Long Grove Bloodstock.An ultra-consistent racemare for Donald J. Lopez, Nasty Affair won or placed in 22 of 25 starts racing exclusively in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic region. She captured seven stakes, placed in six others, and earned $260,383 while trained by Daniel J. Lopez.As a broodmare, Nasty Affair produced 13 named foals, eight of which were winners, including stakes winners Donna Doo and Mountain Affair. A graded winner, Mountain Affair and Donna Doo were both stakes producers. Nasty Affair's other offspring included graded stakes-placed Hell Cat and stakes producer Shaunlee, plus an unnamed Hold That Tiger yearling filly.
