Diplomat Lady Heads Field of 10 in Stonerside Beaumont

Diplomat Lady heads a field of 10 3-year-old fillies set to go postward in Thursday's $250,000 Stonerside Beaumont Stakes (gr. II) at Keeneland.

Trained by Chris Paassch, the daughter of Forestry enters the race, carded for the Beard Course distance of seven furlongs 184 feet, off a fourth-place finish, in the Santa Anita Oaks (gr. I). She began the year with a fifth-place effort in the Las Virgenes (gr. I). Both races were won by Balance, who finished third in the April 8 Ashland Stakes (gr. I).

Owned by Charles Cono, Diplomat Lady will break from post four carrying a high weight of 123 pounds, including jockey Cornelio Velasquez.

Diplomat Lady will not have an easy go of it in the race, facing such foes as stakes winner Dance Daily and stakes-placed India.

Dance Daily, who is trained by D. Wayne Lukas for the estate of Bob Lewis, defeated stablemate and 2005 champion 2-year-old filly Folklore in the Santa Ynez (gr. II) earlier this year. The daughter of Five Star Day finished unplaced in the Las Virgenes and most recently finished third in the La Habra Stakes.

Lukas will also start Overbrook Farm's Fast Deal.

Robby Albarado gets the call aboard Dance Daily, with the pair breaking from post nine. Edgar Prado will be aboard Fast Deal, with the pair breaking from post two.

Trainer Todd Pletcher will send out Jane Lyon's India, who has been on the board in five of her six career starts. The daughter of Hennessy began the year with an allowance win and most recently finished second in the Forward Gal Stakes (gr. II).

Pletcher will also send out Aaron and Marie Jones lightly raced Yachats, a winner of two of three starts.

John Velazquez gets the call aboard India with the pair breaking from post 10. Rafael Bejarano and Yachats will break from post five.
