The Louisville Thoroughbred Club invites all Kentucky Derby (gr. I) fans to gather at the Kentucky Derby Museum April 28 to raise a glass with three-time Kentucky Derby winning jockey Gary Stevens and several of the Thoroughbred industry's top racing analysts as they toast America's greatest race and dice out the odds and chances of all the 132nd Derby contenders.
Beginning at 6 PM, preview party attendees will enjoy a cocktail hour and hor's d'oeuvre dinner buffet, with Stevens, famed writer and The Blood-Horse
magazine national racing correspondent Steve Haskin, and racing analysts, Jill Byrne and Frank Lyons.
The highlight of the evening will be a panel discussion and interactive question and answer session led by Churchill Downs vice president of communications John Asher where Stevens, Jill Byrne, Frank Lyons and Steve Haskin will work through the facts and figures of the 132nd running of the Kentucky Derby, their insight on the horses, jockeys, trainers -- and their predictions of this year's winner. The panel discussion promises to offer sparkling perspectives on the Derby.
The event will also feature a silent auction of Thoroughbred memorabilia to raise funds for Alex's Lemonade Stand, The Luci Center, and Second Stride Thoroughbred Retirement.
All attendees at the party will be entered in a drawing to win two tickets to the 2006 Breeders Cup to be held at Churchill Downs.
Tickets are available to the general public at $75 per person. Special rates are available for Churchill Downs Twin Spires and Turf Club Members. Reservations are limited; please call the Louisville Thoroughbred Club at (502) 896-0436
