Paul Micucci has been named president and general manager of Gulfstream Park. Micucci joined Magna Entertainment Corp., Gulfstream Park's parent company, in March 2003.He replaces Scott Savin, who has held this position since 2000."Paul Micucci has demonstrated leadership in the entertainment field across North America's racing and racino facilities, including MEC's Remington Park," said Don Amos, executive vice president and chief operating officer of MEC."I'm pleased to be joining Gulfstream Park during this exciting time," Micucci stated. "Gulfstream Park will become a major destination with the full complement of entertainment options including the recently approved 'The Village of Gulfstream Park,' featuring fashion shops, signature restaurants and outdoor cafés."Savin spent much of Monday at Gulfstream Park, helping with the transition."Right now, I'm thinking about taking a vacation, but I'll be a regular here at Gulfstream Park," said Savin, a resident of nearby Aventura. "I'm a horseman and I love racing and I love this facility. I enjoyed my time working with Frank Stronach and I truly believe in his vision for the future of horse racing."
Dennis Testa will continue his role as assistant general manager/ director of operations as well as focusing on the needs of the trainers and owners. Rick Odum, director of finance, will play an integral role in the future of Gulfstream Park with Micucci.
