Juddmonte Sells Interest in Distant View to Haras Vacacion

Khalid Abdullah's Juddmonte Farms has reached an agreement on the sale of an equal share in successful sire Distant View to Haras Vacacion S.A. The 15-year-old champion son of Mr. Prospector will stand at that Argentine farm near Buenos Aires. He currently holds court for $15,000 at Juddmonte near Lexington.

For Juddmonte, Distant View sired such runners as seven-time grade I winner Sightseek and group I winners Distant Music and Observatory. The last-named was an English champion miler as a 3-year-old.

"We are delighted to be in partnership with the renowned Haras Vacacion," said manager Garrett O'Rourke. "No final decision has been made on the horse regarding his future career in the Northern Hemisphere."

Distant View has sired 16 stakes winners, 10 of which are graded or group winners, including additional group I winner Distant Way.

Distant View, who is out of the Irish River mare Seven Springs, set a course-record for a mile in winning the 1994 Sussex Stakes (Eng-I) his championship season.
