Lost in the Fog, winner of the Eclipse Award as America's champion sprinter of 2005, has been assigned high weight of 124 pounds for next week's $150,000-added Aristides Breeders' Cup (gr. III) at Churchill Downs.Trainer Greg Gilchrist plans to run Lost in the Fog in the six-furlong sprint in anticipation of the $2 million TVG Breeders' Cup Sprint (gr. I), which will be run at Churchill Downs on Nov. 4.Owned by Harry Aleo, the 4-year-old son of Lost Soldier is coming off an upset loss in his season debut in the Golden Gate Sprint at Northern California's Golden Gate Fields. He would concede from five to 13 pounds to his prospective rivals on the roster of 18 horses nominated to Aristides. Lost in the Fog would carry one pound less than his impost in the Golden Gate Sprint, a race in which he suffered a three-length loss to Carthage.
Kelly's Landing (117), who set a track record for six furlongs in winning the 2005 renewal of the Aristides for trainer Eddie Kenneally, Level Playingfield (114), Exciting Metro (115), Yes Yes Yes (113) and Cougar Cat (112) are others considered likely for the Aristides.
