Logsdon, who served in the Marines, was a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Association of Equine Practitioners. He was an on-call veterinarian for ESPN and ABC networks.He is survived by his wife, Linda, and their four children. Dr. James G. Logsdon, a prominent veterinarian at Oaklawn Park and tracks in the Chicago area, died May 27 at St. Vincent's Infirmary in Little Rock, Ark,. after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was 69.A fourth generation horseman, he was the son of the late J. Gratton Logsdon, who owned and trained horses for a half century. On occasion, Logsdon would recall that his great-grandfather shipped his horses down the Ohio River on steamboats.Logsdon practiced for some 30 years and his patients included such greats as Buckpasser, John Henry, and Secretariat.
