Unique Turf Card at Meadowlands Cancelled Due to Weather

The first of three unique all-turf race cards at Meadowlands was cancelled Monday, June 5, due to heavy rain on the east coast.

Although live Thoroughbred racing in New Jersey is taking place at Monmouth Park, three grass-only race cards were scheduled for Meadowlands in an effort to provide New Jersey horsemen with opportunities to race on grass while the Monmouth Park turf course is reconstructed in preparation for the 2007 Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships. Meadowlands is currently hosting a Standardbred meet.

The next eight-race grass-only card is scheduled for Monday, June 12, and it will conclude Monday, June, 19.
