The deal to stand Tiger Ridge, who is out of the Secretariat mare Weekend Surprise, was brokered in the United States by Ed Magnier of Hartley/De Renzo and Joe Brocklebank.
Tiger Ridge, a half-brother to major sires A.P. Indy and Summer Squall, has been sold to Mary Slack for stallion duty at her Wilgerbosdrift Stud in South Africa. The 10-year-old son of Storm Cat currently stands for $7,500 for a syndicate at Hartley/De Renzo near Ocala, Fla.Tiger Ridge has sired 13 runners that have won or placed in stakes and the earners of nearly $3.4 million. His stakes winners include Tiger Belle, winner of last year's Calder Oaks, and Therecomesatiger, who captured the 2005 Commonwealth Turf Stakes at Churchill Downs.
