Blood-Horse Publications Receives We CARE Award

Edited press release

Blood-Horse Publications received the Republic Bank We CARE Award in the medium size business category at the first-annual awards ceremony of its kind, which was held at The Clubhouse at Lexington's Red Mile race track.

The Republic Bank We CARE Awards recognize companies and employees in Frankfort, Georgetown, and Lexington that demonstrate inspiring examples of community service and support.

The award was created by Republic Bank to publicly congratulate companies that stress the four elements contained in the We CARE name itself - community, activity, recognition, and enterprise. The awards are endorsed by Commerce Lexington, the Frankfort Chamber of Commerce, and the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce.

In presenting the award, Republic Bank chairman & CEO Steve Trager noted that, "The Blood-Horse team is passionate about the Bluegrass community, and stresses giving back to the community and the horse industry. Their employees have become a national model as volunteers for the annual fund campaign for the March of Dimes."

Stacy Bearse, president & CEO of Blood-Horse Publications, accepted the award on behalf of his colleagues. He noted that, "Blood-Horse is comprised of a group of very special people working in a very special community. Their tireless efforts on March of Dimes, Christmas Angel Tree, United Way, Habitat for Humanity, and other initiatives come directly from the heart. Their compassion and concern for others is, in my experience, unrivaled. I could not be more proud."
