Uncle Denny, who went undefeated as a 2-year-old and was a graded stakes winner at three, has been purchased by Larry and Suzanne Bollmann for stallion duty at Tom and Debbie Stull's Tommy Town Thoroughbreds near Santa Ynez, Calif. The 4-year-old son of In Excess will begin his stallion career for $3,000.Bred in California by Mr. and Mrs. W.M. Siemon, Uncle Denny won all three starts at two, including the California Breeders' Champion Stakes. In his second start as a 3-year-old, he captured the El Camino Real Derby (gr. III), with subsequent grade I winner Buzzards Bay running third. Uncle Denny finished third in the Crystal Water Handicap on grass in March in what was his final start.
