Grade II Winner Josh's Madelyn Retired; Booked to Forestry

Josh's Madelyn, a Keeneland grade II winner, has been retired from racing and is booked to Forestry.

A 5-year-old daughter of Quiet American, Josh's Madelyn captured six of nine races as 3-year-old in 2004 and won or placed in all four starts this year. At three, she took the Raven Run Stakes (gr. II) at Keeneland after setting a track-record of 1:21.37 for seven furlongs at Ellis Park in her previous start. She also won that year's Panthers Stakes at Prairie Meadows.

This year, Josh's Madelyn captured the Pan Zareta Stakes and placed in three stakes, including the Vinery Madison Stakes (gr. II) and the Allaire du Pont Breeders' Cup Distaff Handicap (gr. III).

Campaigned by Michael Pressley, Jim Neidig, and George Saufley, Josh's Madelyn retired with eight wins from 27 starts and earnings of $480,309 from four years of racing. She is out of the stakes-placed Housebuster mare Intend to Win, who is a half-sister to two stakes winners, including graded winner Gone for Real

Josh's Madelyn was sent to Taylor Made Farm near Nicholasville, Ky., where Forestry stands.
