Adhrhythm Dominates Florida's Susan's Girl

(from Calder report)
Centaur Farms' homebred filly Adhrhythm dominated the $150,000 Susan's Girl Division of the Florida Stallion Stakes for 2-year-old fillies, taking the seven-furlong event by 8 1/2 lengths.

Silkily finished second, while the winner's two stablemates - Snow Lady and Synergy - were third and fourth, respectively.

Trained by Eddie Plesa Jr., Adhrhythm entered the race off a 6 3/4-length maiden victory at six and a half furlongs on Aug. 12, her third start. She earned $90,000 Saturday and has now banked $121,830.

Calder's leading jockey Manoel Cruz was aboard for the win. Adhrhythm moved up on the outside to challenge on the turn and took command in upper stretch. She covered the seven furlongs in 1:26.77 over a sloppy track.

At odds of 2-to-1, she paid $6.00, $4.00, and $2.80. Silkily, second also in the Desert Vixen, paid $8.80 and $4.40. Snow Lady paid $3.80 to show. The post time favorite, New York shipper Graeme Central, finished sixth in the seven-horse field.

Snow Lady had won this year's first division of the FSS, the Desert Vixen, for Plesa Aug. 5. Plesa has now won ten divisions of the Florida Stallion Stakes. The program is in its 25th year.
