Whitney Racing Stable's Hi Time Scott upped his Laurel Park record to four wins in six starts when he won the $100,000 Charles H. Hadry Stakes by five lengths at the fall meeting in Maryland. Hi Time Scott carried jockey Joe Rocco Jr. to victory in 1:35.74 for the one-mile distance over the main track, defeating his William Downing stablemate Hitthegroundrunnin, who beat 13-10 co-favorites Sinister G and Your Bluffing for second in a photo. The top two finishers race for Downing out of the Bowie Training Center. "Scotty's like Rodney Dangerfield," Downing said. "We claimed him for $8,000 a year and a half ago. That says it all right there. I knew they were both on top of their game."The entry of Hi Time Scott and Hitthegroundrunnin paid $9, $8.20, and $3.20 across the board and collected $80,000 of the $100,000 purse. Sinister G returned $3.60 to show.Your Bluffing - who had won 13 races at Laurel Park, including a pair of stakes races earlier this year - failed to finish in the money for just the fourth time in 21 starts on his home track.
