Forecast: 59 Degrees, 10% Chance of Rain, 5:40 Sunset

Breeders' Cup officials hoping the Nov. 4 World Championships at Churchill Downs will produce a record crowd for the event should be pleased with the long-range forecast.

According to, sunny skies with a high temperature of 59 degrees and a low of 40 and only a 10% chance of precipitation are in the forecast for Breeders' Cup day. The last day for which any precipitation is forecast is Wednesday, Nov. 1, when there is a 30% chance of rain.

With the nearly 50,000 reserved seats available at Churchill Downs sold out, the Breeders' Cup hopes to sell more some 35,000 general admission tickets to the event. General admission ticket sales are more reliant upon weather conditions than the reserved seats.

Churchill has hosted five of the sixth highest-attended Breeders' Cups. A record 80,452 witnessed the 1998 Breeders Cup at Churchill Downs and Cup officials are projecting 85,000 to 90,000 Nov. 4, if the weather cooperates.
