Two of three flights that will carry international contenders to Churchill Downs for the Breeders Cup World Championships are scheduled to arrive in Louisville on Oct. 29.The first flight, which is scheduled to arrive at Louisville International Airport at approximately 2:30 p.m. (EST), will carry Godolphin's Echo of Light and Librettist, both contenders for the NetJets Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. IT). Also on that flight will be Godolphin's Silca's Sister, who defeated males in the 2005 Prix Morny (Fr-I) at France's Deauville and is nominated to the $150,000-added Cardinal (gr. IIIT) on Nov. 5 at Churchill Downs.The second flight from Europe, which is set for arrival at approximately 3:30 p.m., will carry Breeders' Cup stars from several stables. Horses on that flight will include Ouija Board (Filly & Mare Turf), winner of the 2004 Filly and Mare Turf (gr. IT), David Junior (Classic - Powered by Dodge), 2005 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner (Fr-I) Hurricane Run (John Deere Turf), Araafa (NetJets Mile), Rob Roy (NetJets Mile), Sleeping Indian (NetJets Mile), Satalugi (Juvenile Fillies), Satwa Queen (Filly & Mare Turf), and Red Rocks (John Deere Turf).
A third flight scheduled to arrive Oct. 31 will bring five Breeders' Cup hopefuls trained by Aidan O'Brien. That group includes George Washington (Classic - Powered by Dodge); Scorpion (John Deere Turf); Aussie Rules (NetJets Mile), Ad Valorem (NetJets Mile), and Ivan Denisovich (John Deere Turf).
