Healthy Addiction, Hollywood Story Headed to Breeding Shed Next Year

Grade I winners Healthy Addiction and Hollywood Story both are headed to the breeding shed in 2007. Healthy Addiction will visit Tiznow, and Hollywood Story will be bred to Storm Cat, said the mares' connections Friday morning at Churchill Downs. Both Healthy Addiction and Hollywood Story are scheduled to run in Saturday's Emirates Airline Breeders' Cup Distaff (gr. I).

"This (the Distaff) is her last race," said Healthy Addiction's trainer John Sadler. "She's going to go be bred, and we'll race her babies, so if she can add something on (by winning the Distaff), it's going to be fantastic. If she doesn't, it's not like we'll be too disappointed with her."

Healthy Addiction, owned by Pamela Ziebarth, finished last of 13 in last year's Distaff.

George Krikorian's Hollywood Story will be making her fourth appearance in the Breeders' Cup World Championships. She was fourth in the 2003 Juvenile Fillies (gr. I). She also finished 10th in the 2004 Distaff and eighth in the 2005 Distaff. Hollywood Story might race one more time this year before being retired.

"This (the Distaff) might not be her last race; I'm not sure," Krikorian said. "After the race, we'll decide whether she might run one more time or not. Most likely, I will end up keeping the foal (from the Storm Cat mating) to race. I'm trying to develop a small band of quality broodmares."

Kirkorian said he owns approximately 25 broodmares.
