It looks like 2005 Kentucky Oaks (gr. I) winner Summerly will get to run one more time over her favorite track after all.The 4-year-old daughter of Summer Squall was excluded from the 14-horse field for last week's $2 million Emirates Airline Breeders' Cup Distaff (gr. I) at Churchill Downs, then she went through the sales ring on Sunday at the Fasig-Tipton mixed sale in Lexington, Ky.But trainer Scott Blasi said Summerly was returned to his barn at Churchill Downs following her sale and she is now set to run at least one more time at the setting of the highlight of her career in the spring of her 3-year-old season. She is being pointed toward the $300,000-added Falls City Handicap (gr. II), a race for fillies and mares at the Kentucky Oaks distance of 1 1/8 miles. "WinStar Farm bought her for $3.3 million and brought her back to me," said Blasi. Summerly raced under the colors of Winchell Thoroughbreds throughout her career. Blasi said the Falls City would likely be the final race for Summerly before she starts a new career as a WinStar broodmare. The Falls City will be run on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 23."This probably will be it, I'm guessing, but I haven't discussed it with (racing manager) Elliott (Walden) or (CEO) Doug Cauthen yet," said Blasi. "Right now we're pointing her toward the Falls City and I'm excited to have her back in the barn, and I'm sure Churchill is excited for her to run."The Falls City would be the fourth start of the 4-year-old campaign for Summerly, who saw her 2005 campaign come to a premature end when she was injured while training toward the Alabama (gr. I) at Saratoga. She has one victory to show in 2006, the Ashado Handicap at Saratoga. She then finished fifth to Pool Land in the Ruffian (gr. I) at Belmont and a close sixth to Asi Siempre in the Spinster (gr. I) over the Keeneland Polytrack.
Summerly has a record of 6-1-2 in 13 races with earnings of $891,633.
