The highest earner coming into this year's Jackpot is the only horse in the field to ever race at Delta Downs, Go Poppa Fooze. The Kentucky-bred chestnut scored a nine-length victory in the $150,000 Jean Lafitte Stakes at Delta Downs on Nov. 3 in preparation for Friday's trip. Jackpot program. They include Boyd Gaming's $300,000 Delta Princess Stakes for freshman fillies, the $100,000 Sam's Town Stakes for older horses, the $100,000 Treasure Chest for 3-year-old and older fillies and mares, and the $50,000 Zydeco Stakes for 3-year-olds.
The Delta Princess field drew seven fillies including two previous
grade I winners, Meadow Breeze and Appealing Zophie. Meadow Breeze scored a 34-1 upset in this year's $250,000 Matron Stakes at Belmont Park on Sept. 23. Appealing Zophie tallied a victory in the $250,000 Spinaway Stakes at Saratoga Race Course on Sept. 3.
