Monmouth Track Superintendent Harrington Dead

Dave Harrington, Monmouth's track superintendent the past several years after being an assistant starter, died Dec. 29 after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Harrington had been involved with horses since 1957.

"Dave was a true horseman who dearly cared for this game," said Bob Kulina, Monmouth Park vice president/general manager. "His passion was reflected in the quality of his work. He will be greatly missed by all at Monmouth."

His wife, Alyse, son Joseph, daughter Tina, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild survive him

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Cancer Society. A "Celebration of Life" in honor of Dave will be held Jan. 6 at his home located at 14845 NE 214 Ave., Ft. McCoy, Fla.
