Graded Race Mare Heavenly Ransom Retired

Edited press release

Graded stakes winner Heavenly Ransom, who won five of six races, has been retired from racing with earnings of $181,720. She is booked to Unbridled's Song.

A 5-year-old daughter of Red Ransom who raced solely on grass, Heavenly Ransom won the 2006 Wilshire Handicap (gr. IIIT) and the 2005 Chandler Handicap. She raced for Mr. and Mrs. Vicken Meguerditchian.

Produced from the Tabasco Cat mare Heavenly Cat, Heavenly Ransom is a half-sister to stakes winners Capitano and Dilemma, both of which are graded stakes-placed. She is boarded at the Taylor family's Taylor Made Farm near Nicholasville, Ky., where Unbridled's Song stands at stud.

“Heavenly Ransom is a gorgeous mare from a very live young family.  Cut out to be any kind, Heavenly Ransom was extremely unlucky in her only defeat,” said Steve Castagnola of Taylor Made Sales.
