Bob and John to be Named Aiken Trained Horse of the Year

(Edited press release)

Bob and John, owned by Stonerside Stable, is set to receive the “Aiken, S.C., Trained Horse of the Year” award March 18 at the Aiken Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame and Museum. The public is invited to attend.
Winner of the 2006 Wood Memorial (gr. I), Bob and John also was an impressive 11 1/2 length maiden winner at Del Mar as a two-year-old. He closed his juvenile campaign with a third to Brother Derek in the grade I Hollywood Futurity. The second biggest victory of Bob and John's 2006 campaign came in the Sham Stakes (gr. III), giving Stonerside its 100th victory in a stakes race.

Bob and John is the second starter out of the grade I-placed Deputy Minister mare Minister's Melody, whose first starter is the stakes winning Storm Cat mare Connie Belle.

Bob and John's grade I-winning sire, Seeking the Gold, has sired 76 stakes winners. He stands at the Hancock family's Claiborne Farm near Paris, Ky.
