First Winners for Early Flyer, Proud Citizen

Grade II winners Early Flyer and Proud Citizen were represented by their first winners May 5. Proud Citizen's initial winner, Motovato, won by nine lengths at 4 1/2 furlongs in :52.62 at Delaware Park in his first start. Bred in Kentucky by Elizabeth L. Jones and Brownell Alexander, he is owned by Mary Ryan.

A Kentucky Derby (gr. I) runner-up, Proud Citizen (Gone West--Drums Of Freedom, by Green Forest) stands for $12,500 at Brereton C. Jones' Airdrie Stud near Midway, Ky.

Early Flyer's first winner, Five Alarm, won by five lengths at 4 1/2 furlongs in :51.74 at Lone Star Park in his second start. The Texas-bred races for breeder/owner Clarence Scharbauer Jr.
