Webster New Managing Director of Inglis & Son

Mark Webster, a 39-year-old media executive, is the new managing director of William Inglis & Son, a prominent  Australian equine auction firm. The appointment, which takes effect July 16, follows a search over several months utilizing the services of a specialist consulting team, according to an Inglis press release.

Webster comes from a senior position within News Ltd., where he led digital and print media businesses over the past eight years. As general manager of Nationwide News Limited for three years from 2003, Webster was responsible for 1,600 employees and the profit performance of The Daily Telegraph, The Sunday Telegraph, The Australian, and The Sportsman. Since early 2006, Webster has been responsible for the sale and distribution of all News Ltd. newspapers and magazines.

Previously, Mark had a distinguished 12 year career in the Royal Australian Navy, graduating as Dux of the Naval College and attaining the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
