Capsized, D'wildcat, Hook and Ladder Sire First Winners

Graded stakes winners Capsized, D'wildcat, and Hook and Ladder sired their first winners in mid-June. All three winners won at first asking.

D'wildcat, a grade I winner, was represented by his first winner when his daughter Wildcat Nite won June 16 at Woodbine. Bred in Ontario, Canada, by Haras Du Chevrillard, she won at 4 1/2 furlongs in :53.47 for Dr. Tom Simon's Vinery Stables. Wildcat Nite is the second winner from the Farma Way mare Nitelifeinmadrid.

D'wildcat (Forest Wildcat--D'Enough, by D'Accord) stands for $6,500 at Vinery near Summerfield, Fla.

Hook and Ladder's first winner, the colt Spanky Fischbein, scored June 15 at 5 1/2 furlongs at Belmont Park. Bred in New York by Chester and Mary Broman, Spanky Fischbein won by 3 1/4 lengths in 1:05 for Gold Square. Spanky Fischbein is the first foal from the In Excess mare Moneymakinmamma.

A grade II winner, Hook and Ladder (Dixieland Band--Taianna, by Cox's Ridge) stands for $6,000 at Sequel Stallions New York near Hudson, N.Y.

Capsized was represented by his first winner when his daughter, Maxie's Night Cap, won June 14 at Emerald Downs. Bred in Oregon by Dr. and Mrs. Jack B. Root Jr., Maxie's Night Cap won at five furlongs by 4 3/4 lengths in :58.60 for a partnership that included Owners Stable. Maxie's Night Cap is the third winner from the Society Max mare Maximum Effort.

Capsized (Summer Squall--Overturned, by Wavering Monarch) stands for $4,000 at Windfall Farms near Paso Robles, Calif.
