A new equine veterinary clinic in Versailles, Ky., will hold its open house Saturday, July 14.
Woodford Equine Hospital, which branched off from Woodford Veterinary Clinic, has completed construction on its surgery suites, indoor working treatment area, isolation barn, and surgery and medicine barn. It also features a drive-through lab and pharmacy.
"We are excited," equine operations manager Pip Martin said. "We did (the drive-through lab and pharmacy) for convenience. It is more accurate, and it also controls what comes and goes in and out of the pharmacy."
In the future, the clinic plans to add a reproductive center, more surgery suites, and an additional medicine barn.
"We hope to be able to have a full breeding shed where we can board mares and stallions within the next three years," Martin said. "Eventually we would like to install a pool recovery as well, depending on funds."
The open house, which will be catered and have an open bar, will be held from 12-6 p.m. EDT. The clinic is located just off Versailles Road at 3550 Lexington Road.
"We tried to time it because the Junior League finale is that night, and it is the weekend before the Fasig-Tipton sale," Martin said. "Most of our clients will be in town, so they can come check it out."
