Queen's Plate winners Emma-Jayne Wilson and Mike Fox will aim for the Prince of Wales on Sunday.

Queen’s Plate winner Mike Fox and jockey Emma-Jayne Wilson will aim for the second jewel in the Triple Crown of Canadian racing when the field goes postward in Sunday’s Prince of Wales Stakes at Fort Erie Race Track.

Mike Fox, a bay son of Giant's Causeway   trained by Ian Black, looks for his fifth career win in eight starts while coming off consecutive victories in the June 24 Queen’s Plate and a May 23 allowance race for owner D.M. Firestone.

Mike Fox will be challenged by Jim Dandy Stable’s Jiggs Coz, the beaten favorite in the Queen’s Plate, who finished third in that race after winning the June 3 Plate Trial and the May 5 Queenston Stakes at Woodbine. The gray son of Cozzene has four wins from six starts for trainer Sid Attard.

Also worth noting in the field is the presence of the lightly-raced Alezzandro, a son of High Yield who has started only three times. Never worse than third, the Kevin Attard trainee comes off a second-place finish in the Queen’s Plate and a third-place finish in the Plate Trial after breaking his maiden first time out May 13.

A field of six has been entered, all horses carry 126 pounds.
