TVG will air special coverage of some of the world’s top Thoroughbred races Thanksgiving week, including live broadcasts of the Hollywood Turf Festival, the Japan Cup program from Tokyo, and the Hill ‘N’ Dale Cigar Mile (gr. I) from Aqueduct.
The $1.75-million Hollywood Turf Festival, offering the best grass racing of the year from Hollywood Park, begins Nov. 23 with the $400,000 Citation Handicap (gr. IT). The festival culminates with the $500,000 Matriarch Stakes (gr. IT) and the $500,000 Hollywood Derby (gr. IT) Nov. 25.
Hollywood Park will offer a $1-million guaranteed Turf Festival Pick 6 Nov. 25. TVG’s Trackside Live will originate from Hollywood Park each day of the Turf Festival.
The Japan Cup at Tokyo Racecourse is one of the most important meets of the Japanese racing calendar. The $2.5-million Japan Cup Dirt (Jpn-I) on Nov. 23 is expected to include Student Council, winner of this summer’s Pacific Classic (gr. I) at Del Mar. The $4.8-million Japan Cup (gr. I) on Nov. 24 is scheduled to have a stellar international field, including Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (Fr-I) winner Dylan Thomas.
TVG analysts Todd Schrupp and Simon Bray will be live on-track from Tokyo for both the Japan Cup Dirt and the Japan Cup. Programming for these races on Friday and Saturday begins each night at 9:30 p.m. PST on TVG.
The $300,000 Hill ‘N’ Dale Cigar Mile at Aqueduct Nov. 24 is the marquee race of Aqueduct’s fall meet.
