Melnyk Buys Kentucky Farm

Top owner Eugene Melnyk has purchased a Kentucky farm for mare operation.

Eugene Melnyk has purchased the property formally known as Ripplewood Farm in Kentucky. The farm, a 117 acre property located on Muir Station Road, will be renamed Winding Oaks Farm, and will serve primarily as a boarding facility for the Melnyk mares that are visiting Kentucky-based stallions.

“We are still retaining Winding Oaks Farm, Ocala (the former Mockingbird Farm) as our principal operating base both for raising and pre-training our horses, but with the number of high-class mares we are sending to Kentucky every breeding season, it makes sense for us to have our own facility, and thereby retain oversight of each stage of the program” said Melnyk.

No price was announced for the transaction, which was brokered by Henry Alexander of Midway Land & Auction, Co.
