Stallion Video: Stormello

Stormello, by Alan Porter

2004 by Stormy Atlantic-Wilshewed, by Carson City

Stormello is a grade I winning 2-year-old by Storm Cat’s son, Stormy Atlantic, the Leading Sire of 2-Year-Olds for 2006. His dam is by Carson City, a son of Mr. Prospector, and Stormello should be very well suited by crossing back over mares from other branches of the Mr. Prospector line.

The Raise a Native strain would also be worth bringing in here through Alydar and Exclusive Native/Affirmed. Stormy Atlantic is out of a mare by Seattle Slew, and he has sired graded stakes winner Atlantic Ocean out of another daughter of Seattle Slew, and at Hot Storm a stakes winner of almost $850,000 out of a mare by Secret Slew. The Raja Baba, Bold Forbes and What a Pleasure branches of Bold Ruler also appeal. Stormy Atlantic has crossed well with mares descending from His Majesty, and the Ribot line through His Majesty’s brother, Graustark and Tom Rolfe/Hoist the Flag also appeals. Other lines which have strong appeal here include Blushing Groom; Hail to Reason through Halo, Roberto and Stop the Music; In Reality; and Damascus. — by Alan Porter
