Stakes winner Trickey Trevor to Victory Rose in California

Trickey Trevor, a northern California stakes-winning speedster, will enter stud at Ellen Jackson's Victory Rose Thoroughbreds near Vacaville, Calif. His fee is $5,000. Two stallions, Crafty C. T. and Muqtarib, are relocating to Victory Rose from Windfall Farm in California and each will stand for $3,500.

Trickey Trevor dominated his competition with front-running speed. He captured 20 races and placed in nine others from 47 starts and earned $701,224.

A 9-year-old son of Demaloot Demashoot, Trickey Trevor got better the older he got. All six of his stakes wins came in 2005-07. He scored his biggest win in the 2006 Churchill Downs Handicap (gr. II), capturing the seven-furlong race in 1:21.68. In the 2007 Oakland Stakes at six furlongs at Golden Gate Fields, Trickey Trevor trailed after fractions of :20.92 and :42.73 before unleashing a rally in which he got up to win in 1:08.96.

Trickey Trevor raced the second part of his career for trainer Jerry Hollendorfer, Dan Jelladian, and George Todaro, who have retained ownership of the horse. Trickey Trevor was produced from the winning Silver Deputy mare Show Your Pride.

Crafty C. T., a California grade II winner, was one of California's leading first-crop sires of 2007, with progeny earnings of $108,930. His runners included stakes winner Considering.

Crafty C. T. won the San Rafael Stakes (gr. II) and placed in six grade I stakes, including the NAPA Breeders' Cup Sprint and Santa Anita Derby.

A 10-year-old son of Crafty Prospector, Crafty C. T. is one of two stakes winners from the winning Far North mare Andriana B.

Muqtarib, a 12-year-old son of Gone West, has sired the earners of $1 million, including stakes winners Whatsthenameman and Gone Western, both of whom were stakes winners at 2. In another performance as a 2-year-old, Whatsthenameman set a Santa Anita track record.

Muqtarib was a group II winner in England at 2. He is a half-brother to two stakes winners and is out of the German champion Shicklah (by The Minstrel). His third dam is a half-sister to major sires Habitat and Northfields.
