Brilliant at three, when co-highweighted three-year-old in the world, Discreet Cat is also the only horse to have won a race against Invasor. He is by Forestry – one of Storm Cat’s best sons – out of a grade one winning daughter of Private Account.

Other than with the Fappiano branch, Forestry hasn’t enjoyed the degree of success one might have expected with Mr. Prospector line mares, given that he goes back to a three-parts-brother to the dam of that horse (although he does have three stakes winners out of none Fappiano Mr. Prospector line mares. However, Discreet Cat’s broodmare sire, Private Account, has been good with Mr. Prospector, so that strain could be still be worth trying here, perhaps particularly with Mr. Prospector/Buckpasser crosses (particularly Woodman, who is out of a sister to the dam of Private Account).

The Fappiano  branch looks extremely interesting via Quiet American and Unbridled (Unbridled’s second dam is three-quarters related to Believe It, the sire of the second dam of Discreet Cat).  It could be worth breeding back to Discreet Cat’s own broodmare sire line, that of Damascus, and Forestry has also worked with Alydar, Icecadape, Seattle Slew, Riverman, and his own broodmare sire line, that of His Majesty.
