Ro Parra, owner of Millennium Farms, announced that New York-based stallion Millennium Wind will be added to the innovative Millennium Rewards program that was launched on January 1.  Millennium Wind is owned by Millennium Stallions and stands at Suzie and Dr. Linwood O'Cain's Highcliff Farms in Delanson, New York for a stud fee of $5,000.

“Millennium Farms' frequent breeder Rewards program is the most innovative and forward-thinking plan to ever be introduced into the thoroughbred breeding industry,” said Suzie O'Cain.  “Millennium Farms should be congratulated for developing this concept, which supports breeders-whether they breed to sell or to race.  This is a huge benefit, which helps to offset some of the expenses incurred by broodmare owners.  Highcliff Farm is excited about being able to offer this program to New York breeders who have bred to Millennium Wind in the past or are considering breeding to him in 2008.”

“We are pleased to welcome Millennium Wind to our Rewards program,” Parra said.  “This gives breeders in New York and throughout the Mid-Atlantic region an opportunity to participate in the program, thus earnings points that can ultimately be redeemed to breed to a Millennium stallion.”

Millennium Wind is a 10-year-old son of Cryptoclearance out of the Drone mare Bali Babe, making him a half-brother to Horse of the Year and Kentucky Derby (gr. 1) and Preakness Stakes (gr. 1) winner Charismatic as well as multiple stakes winner Tossofthecoin.  At three, Millennium Wind won the Toyota Blue Grass Stakes (gr. 1) at Keeneland and was second to Point Given in the Hollywood Futurity (gr. 1) at two.  He is the sire of promising three-year-old Wind's Legacy, winner of two straight races at Hollywood Park.

The Millennium Rewards Program awards points to breeders for using Millennium Farms stallions and for the resulting offspring’s successes in the sales ring and on the track. Breeders accrue points in the following ways:
-Opening a Frequent Breeder Account earns 10,000 points;
-One point is earned for every dollar spent on stud fees;
-One point is earned for every dollar a Millennium Bred brings its first time through an auction;
-One point accrues for every dollar a Millennium Bred earns at the race track;
-A black type stakes win garners 10,000 points;
-A Grade III win earns 25,000 points;
-A Grade II win scores 50,000 points; and
-A Grade I win is worth 75,000 points.
Points are then converted to dollars at a rate of 10% and can be applied toward the stud fee of any Millennium Farms stallion.

Millennium Wind joins Kentucky-based stallions Even the Score , Scrimshaw, Shaniko, Will He Shine, Woke Up Dreamin, and Littleexpectations in the Millennium Rewards program.
