Adena Springs Sale Set for Monday

Two colts by A.P. Indy are among the 2-year-olds cataloged.

Buyers will get an opportunity to acquire young horses from Frank Stronach’s multiple Eclipse Award-winning program Monday when the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. conducts the Adena Springs sale of 2-year-olds training. The auction will be held at Stronach’s Central Florida Farm, Adena Springs South near Williston, beginning at 4:30 p.m. (EDT).

The 136 juveniles cataloged include two colts by A.P. Indy. One is out of the 7-year-old winning Seeking the Gold mare Follow, who is from the family of European champion and successful sire Nureyev. The other is out of grade II winner Smok’n Frolic (by Smoke Glacken), who earned more than $1.5 million. In addition, there is a Smart Strikecolt out of Canadian champion Lady Shari and an El Pradocolt out of champion Yanks Music.

Champion Ginger Punch and grade III winner Buffalo Man are among the graduates of the Adena Springs sale.

A country barbecue will be held prior to the auction, and it will start at 3 p.m. There will be a charge of $20 per person, with all proceeds going to the Ocala Farm Ministry and the Florida Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation.
