The Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association has started a new feature called the “TOBA Member of the Month,” the organization announced March 17.

The Member of the Month will be selected by TOBA staff based upon various criteria. TOBA staff will write an article about selected members’ involvement in the Thoroughbred industry, including their racing and breeding successes and highlights. The article will also describe the way in which TOBA has assisted them within the industry.

TOBA members will learn about the Member of the Month via a new electronic newsletter e-mailed around the first of each month. The article will also be available at the TOBA Web site.

John “Jack” Carey of Stevenson Ranch in California is TOBA’s newest Member of the Month. Carey became involved in the Thoroughbred industry through The Racing Game, and also attended TOBA’s breeding and pedigree and conformation clinics. For the complete article, visit the TOBA Web site.

TOBA, based in Lexington, was formed in 1961 and is a national trade organization of leading Thoroughbred horse breeders and owners.
