Roaring Fever Filly Among Fastest

Medaglia d'Oro colt also shines during Fasig-Tipton Midlantic under tack show.

A Roaring Fever filly and a Medaglia d'Oro  colt turned in the fastest works at an eighth of a mile May 14 at Timonium in Maryland during the first session of the under tack show for the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic May sale of 2-year-olds in training. Each juvenile was clocked in :10 1/5.

Consigned by Eddie Woods, agent, the Roaring Fever filly is out of the 18-year-old unraced Devil’s Bag mare Polish Devil and is a half-sister to stakes-placed winner Deviletta (by Trempolino), who is the dam of grade I winner Wicked Style (by Macho Uno ).

The Medaglia d’Oro colt was produced from the 9-year-old winning Saint Ballado mare Princess Legacy, who is a half-sister to stakes winner Rock (by Nureyev). Other family members include champion My Juliet, Japanese champion Diamond Biko, grade I winner Stella Madrid, and 1998 Kildangan Stud Irish Oaks (Ire-I) winner Winona. The 2-year-olds consignor is Solitary Oak, agent.

A Tapit  filly and Speightstown colt, both members of their sires’ first crops, were the quickest at a quarter mile, each covering the distance in :21 2/5.

Consigned by Randy Miles, agent, the Tapit filly is out of the 17-year-old winning Copelan mare McCaskill, who is a half-sister to stakes winner and grade III producer Bright Bliss.

The Speightstown colt was produced from the 13-year-old stakes-winning Deputy Minister mare Social Director and is a half-sister to grade II winner Dream About (by Cherokee Run).  Woodside Ranch, agent for Newbridge Bloodstock, is the juvenile’s consignor.

A Malibu Moon filly set the pace at three-eighths of a mile with her time of :33 2/5. Consigned by Leprechaun Racing, agent, she is out of the 9-year-old Fenter mare Starr’s Star, who is a half-sister to grade III winner Greatsilverfleet and to stakes winners American Dreamer and French Gold. Starr’s Star’s other half-siblings include Gold Premieress, the dam of two added-money winners and stakes producer Utah Gold.

The second session of the under tack show is scheduled for May 15, beginning at 10 a.m. (EDT). The auction will be held on May 19 and 20, with selling starting each day at 10 a.m.
