Grade I winner Pleasantly Perfectwas represented by his first winner when a daughter, Quite the Lady, won June 7 at Arlington Park in her first start.
Bred in Kentucky by Diamond A Racing Corp., Quite the Lady was bumped at the beginning of the 4 ½-furlong event for 2-year-old fillies. But she rallied four wide under jockey Jesse Campbell and wore down the leader to win by three lengths for trainer Todd Pletcher, stopping the clock in :52.32. She paid $9.60, $4.80, and $3.40.
Quite the Lady is the third winner from three foals of racing age from the Sam M. mare Separata, and was a $74,000 purchase at the OBS spring sale of 2-year-olds in training this year.
Winner of the 2004 Dubai World Cup (UAE-I) and the 2003 Breeders’ Cup Classic – Powered by Dodge (gr. I), Pleasantly Perfect (Pleasant Colony--Regal State, by Affirmed) stands for $30,000 at William S. Farish’s Lane’s End Farm near Versailles, Ky.
