Grade I winner and millionaire Nobiz Like Shobiz will enter stud at Darby Dan Farm near Lexington in 2009.
“We are excited to have Nobiz Like Shobiz join our roster," Darby Dan owner John Phillips said. "He was a top 2-year-old winning the Remsen Stakes (gr. II), and then went on to have a grade I career on both dirt and turf. He is attractive to a very broad spectrum of breeders. His size, precociousness, and adaptability to all surfaces will make him very popular.”
The Kentucky-bred 4-year old son of Albert the Great, out of the Storm Cat mare Nightstorm won last year’s grade I Wood Memorial Stakes, and retires with total career earnings of $1,544,730. Nobiz Like Shobiz was retired from racing in May after being sidelined earlier in the year with a slight injury.
Nobiz Like Shobiz also captured last year’s National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame Stakes (gr. IIT), Jamaica Handicap (gr. IIT), Kent Breeders’ Cup (gr. IIIT), and Holy Bull Stakes (gr. III). Nobiz Like Shobiz is owned and bred by Elizabeth Valando and was trained by Barclay Tagg.
His fee will be determined at a later date.
