Tiago to Adena Springs at End of Career

Adena Springs Farm has purchased a majority interest in the breeding rights of multiple grade I winner Tiago from the colt's owner and breeder, Ann and Jerry Moss.

Tiago will continue to race for his owners and will enter stud at Adena Springs Kentucky upon his retirement from racing.  Tiago is being pointed towards the grade I Breeders' Cup Classic at Santa Anita Oct. 25.

In his most recent start, Tiago finished second in the Goodwood (gr. I) Pro-Ride Racing Surface at Santa Anita.

"We are proud to have Tiago join our Kentucky stallion roster and to stand alongside his classic winning half-brother, Giacomo" said Adena Springs owner Frank Stronach. "Tiago has demonstrated great versatility throughout his successful racing career, with graded stakes victories on both conventional dirt and Polytrack to his credit.

“Additionally, Tiago offers breeders significant outcross value and fits the profile of other stallions that we have enjoyed success with.  We are also very pleased to be teaming up with Mr. and Mrs. Moss again on yet another outstanding stallion prospect." Stronach continued.

Tiago, by Pleasant Tap, was produced from the multiple stakes winning Stop the Music mare Set Them Free.  At three, Tiago won the Santa Anita Derby (gr. I)  in and also accounted for the Goodwood, Swaps (gr. II), and finished 3rd in the Belmont Stakes (gr. I) that season.

In his current 4-year-old  campaign Tiago has been on the board in 5 of 7 starts; all grade 1 and grade II events, highlighted by his victory over Heatseeker in the grade II Oaklawn Park Handicap.

Tiago has a record of 16-5-3-3 and career earnings of $1,843,270.

A stud fee will be determined upon Tiago's retirement from racing.
