Distorted Humor's Fee Drops

Distorted Humor to stand for $225,000 in 2009.

WinStar Farm has announced Distorted Humor , North America’s leading sire by number of  stakes winners in 2005, ’06, and ’07, will stand the 2009 breeding season for a $225,000 stud fee. His 2008 fee was $300,000.

"Distorted Humor has already proved himself to be among the elite sires in the world--only one other sire in the past 30 years has led the U.S. in stakes winners three years in a row and that was Danzig," said Doug Cauthen, president of Bill Casner and Kenny Troutt’s WinStar. "Distorted Humor is in his prime and is one of the few stallions that can consistently command seven figures for a yearling year after year.  This fee acknowledges the market adjustment, and we now feel his 2009 fee is right on the money for both our shareholders and breeders."

In 2008, Distorted Humor currently ranks sixth by North American progeny earnings, with $7.3 million. His 2008 stakes winners include Commentator, who won the historic Whitney Handicap (gr. I) for the second time, and grade I winner Hystericalady, who became her sire’s third multi-millionaire.
