Hall of Fame trainer Philip Johnson will saddle two horses in Sunday's $100,000 Pilgrim Stakes (gr. IIIT), Belmont Park's closing day co-feature race. Johnson sends out the uncoupled entry of River Otter and Volponi.

River Otter (With Approval--Address Unknown, by Ogygian) won a maiden race earlier this month in his second career start while making his turf debut. Jean-Luc Samyn will guide the colt from post position eight in the 1 1/8-mile turf race for 2-year-olds. Volponi, on the other hand, has yet to win a race, but he has finished in the trifecta in each of his four races. A son of Cryptoclearance, Volponi will be ridden by John Velazquez on Sunday.

The field for the Pilgrim, with jockeys and weights, will consist of:

1--Wicked Will, Norberto Arroyo Jr., 115
2--Baptize, Jerry Bailey, 122
3--Credit Crunch, Heberto Castillo Jr., 115
