Storm Cat's Last Foal Is a Filly

Storm Cat's last foal is a filly out of a graded stakes winner.

The third and last foal from Storm Cat’s final crop was born March 5 at Louise and Kiki Courtelis’ Town & Country Farms near Paris, Ky. The newborn filly is the first foal out of graded stakes winner Richwoman (by Successful Appeal ). Richwoman was purchased privately after she was bought back for $725,000 at the 2008 Keeneland November breeding stock sale.
“Kiki and I are thrilled to be a part of history,” said Louise Courtelis. “Obviously, it is sad to say that she is the last foal of such a remarkable sire, but it gives us a special feeling to know that this beautiful Storm Cat filly carries in her the bloodlines of one the most influential sires of our lifetime.”

A major sire and winner, Storm Cat (Storm Bird--Terlingua, by Secretariat) stood at the Young family’s Overbrook Farm near Lexington before he was pensioned last year,
