A More Than Ready colt was the fastest worker at an eighth of a mile March 13 during the second session of the under tack show for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. March select sale of 2-year-olds in training in Central Florida. He covered the distance in :9 3/5.
Produced from the 8-year-old winning Indian Charlie mare Silent Indian, the bay juvenile is from the family of champion De La Rose. Ciaran and Amy Dunne’s Wavertree Stables, as agent, is the consignor of the colt, who was purchased for $175,000 by Edmonton at the 2008 Keeneland September yearling auction.
Five horses tied for the quickest work at a quarter mile, each covering the distance in :20 3/5. They were a Thunder Gulch – Lady of Wicklow filly, consigned by Eisaman Equine, agent; Ready Response, a Tiger Ridge – Low Talker colt, consigned by Casse Sales, agent for Norman Casse; Wild Wit, a Distorted Humor – Mountain Girl filly, consigned by Welcome Gate Farm; an Exchange Rate – Notably Charming filly, consigned by Old South Farm; and an Indian Ocean – Sweet Zeena colt, consigned by O & H Bloodstock.
A Mingun – Run Early Run Fast colt was the fastest worker at three furlongs with a time of :33. Harris Training Center, agent, is his consignor.
During the first session of the under tack show, held March 12, four horses were the fastest at a quarter mile, each turning in a time of :20 2/5. Eight were the fastest at an eighth, each with a clocking of :9 4/5. And the fastest worker at three furlongs was timed in :33 2/5.
