Edited press release
Pinnacle Race Course will open for its second season of live Thoroughbred racing on Friday, June 5, with the 82-day meet running through Saturday, Oct. 24. Racing will be conducted four days per week on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
“After a successful first season in 2008, we are excited about our next season, which will feature 20 more race days than last year for our fans and horsemen to enjoy,” said Pinnacle founder Jerry Campbell.
With the closing of Detroit Race Course in Livonia in 1998, there was no Thoroughbred racing in the Detroit area until Pinnacle Race Course opened on July 18, 2008. Located in New Boston near the Detroit Metropolitan Airport, Pinnacle Race Course features a one-mile dirt track and year-round simulcasting in its state-of-the-art, 12,000 square feet Pinnacle Pavilion.
