(Edited Ocala Breeders' Sales Co. press release)

Garden Cider, a daughter of Forbidden Apple, zipped an eighth of a mile in :9 3/5 April 16 in Central Florida. The bay filly posted the fastest time for the distance during the second session of the under tack show for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. spring sale of 2-year-olds in training.

Consigned by Bridlewood Farm and produced from the 15-year-old winning Halo mare Stacie’s Halo, Garden Cider is a full sister to winner Hibernian Prince and a half-sister to five other winners. The filly is from the family of grade II winner Rare Blend, grade III winner Rare Gift, and Norwegian champion Missy Baldski.

Two juveniles shared the honor for the session’s quickest quarter mile, each stopping the clock in :20 2/5. They were Ishmael, a Scrimshaw – Preciosa colt consigned by Hayden Thoroughbreds, as agent, and a Pico Central – Sez Who’s Gold colt, consigned by Casse Sales, as agent.

The day’s fastest three-furlong work, accomplished in :33 1/5, was turned in by Sendmeto the City, a City Place-- Sendmesomeroses colt that is consigned by All In Sales, as agent.

The second session of the under tack show was for horses listed as Hip Nos. 349-696 in the OBS spring sale’s catalog. The third session, which is for Hip Nos. 697-1044 is scheduled for April 17, beginning at 8 a.m. (EDT). The under tack show’s fourth session will be held April 18.

The OBS spring sale is scheduled for April 20-23.
