Real Quiet to Shuttle to Uruguay

Champion Real Quiet will shuttle to Uruguay.

(Edited press release)

Real Quiet, the 1998 Kentucky Derby (gr. I) and Preakness Stakes (gr. I) winner and champion 3-year-old male, will stand the Southern Hemisphere breeding season at Pablo Salomone's Haras Cuatro Piedras in Uruguay as part of a two-year lease agreement.

A son of Quiet American, 14-year-old  Real Quiet, stands for $7,500 at Penn Ridge Farms near Harrisburg, Pa. His runners include 2007 champion sprinter and two-time Breeders’ Cup Sprint (gr. I) winner Midnight Lute .

Michael Jester owner of Penn Ridge said, “It was a great opportunity for a stallion of his caliber to become part of the improved Uruguayan breeding and racing program.  Due to Real Quiet's success and his great fertility, we felt that shuttling him made perfect sense. We are quite happy to be a part of this agreement with Haras Cuatro Piedras .”

Real Quiet is expected to cover more than 100 broodmares from Cuatro Piedras and other Uruguayan farms, starting in July/August.

Nicoma Bloodstock (USA), Azumbullo Bloodstock (Uruguay) and TBS Agency (Brazil) brokered the deal between Haras Cuatro Piedras and Penn Ridge Farm.
