Grey Goose vodka joined forces with fashion designer Rachel Roy to create a hat worn by Brooke Shields at the May 2 Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) at Churchill Downs.
The hat, which is autographed by both Roy and Shields, is being auctioned on the Clothes Off Our Back Foundation website (www.clothesoffourback.org) May 3-16. All proceeds will benefit the Barnstable-Brown Foundation to support diabetes research.
“The Kentucky Derby is an important event for Grey Goose Vodka as it is one of the biggest days in Thoroughbred racing,” said Shane Graber, vice president and managing director of Grey Goose. “Brooke’s talent, style, and sophistication are representative of the Grey Goose brand and we are thrilled to have her be a part of this exciting day.”
This will be the second time Roy has partnered with Grey Goose in a design collaboration. She previously designed signature cocktail dresses now worn by the brand’s spokesmodels at Grey Goose sponsored events across the country, making the custom designed Derby hat a natural extension of the partnership.
“Grey Goose represents a brand that is as traditional as it is innovative, and I wanted something that resonated with such a woman, who is equal parts classic and modern,” said Roy.
