Programming from Pimlico begins Friday, May 15.

(Edited press release)

TVG will broadcast live from Pimlico Race Course this week, airing television’s most comprehensive pre- and post-race coverage of the 134th Preakness Stakes (gr. I), including a special preview show.

In addition to analysis of all the participants, TVG’s Preakness preview show will air an interview with jockey Calvin Borel, who won the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) aboard Mine That Bird, but has chosen to ride filly Rachel Alexandra in the Preakness. The Preakness Preview Show airs May 15 at 8:30 p.m. EDT and will re-air throughout the evening leading up to the Preakness.

Live coverage of the Preakness -- hosted by TVG’s Matt Carothers, Ken Rudulph and Michelle Yu -- begins Friday, May 15 at 11:30 a.m. EDT with special editions of "Blinker’s Off" and ":58 Flat" from Pimlico Race Course. The entire “Run for the Black-Eyed Susans” will be covered through pre-race analysis, up-to-the-minute news, and interviews with owners and trainers. Following the conclusion of the Preakness Stakes, TVG’s Preakness Wrap-Up Show, Saturday, May 16 at 7 p.m. EDT, will offer post-race commentary, in-depth race analysis, detailed wagering results and extensive race replays of the race.

“This is already one of the most anticipated runnings in the 134-year history of the Preakness” said Tony Allevato, senior vice president and executive producer of TVG. “TVG’s pre- and post-race coverage will give fans exclusive insight into every aspect of the Preakness from the starting gate to the finish line and beyond.”
